About U3A

Welcome to Bribie island U3A, a social and educational club for senior citizens. U3A is short for the University of the Third Age. Members come from Bribie Island and surrounding areas. A wide range of classes in many subjects is offered in four terms per annum, run by volunteer tutors.

Classes

Class duration is usually 1-1.5 hours, and a wide variety of subjects is offered. Classes are held at the U3A premises at 156A First Avenue or in various offsite venues.

Volunteers

Volunteer receptionists run the office. U3A occupies purpose-built premises. Airconditioned classrooms are equipped with audio visual equipment. U3A also leases the Recreation Hall from the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Committee
The committee of 12 volunteers, each with specific roles & duties, meets monthly and publishes quarterly Newsletters. Social functions and outings are held regularly for all members. A Theatre Outings group runs regular bus trips to shows and ballet in Brisbane.
